Health Talk on Autism was organized by the Lions Clubs Zone 17 on the 15th. May at PBTC Centre. Lions from Zone 17 and Leos were invited to gain more indepth knowledge of the symptoms and rehabilation of Autistic children.
The Guest Speaker was Dr.Intan from Segamat District Hospital. She stress on the importance for parents to look up tell tale signs of Autism, such as slur speech, unresponsive and does not know how to call names.
The response was very good as more than 60 Lions and parents were present. A fruit basket was presented to the speaker after her presentation.

昔加末县内八个狮子会联合赠送昔加末血库一台全新的手提电脑供血库的资料收集及分类使用。
众狮会赠送这台手提电脑虽礼轻意义却是非凡的。这起缘于血库使用的数台电脑早已过时及损坏，却苦苦等不到部门内的拨款添购新电脑。有了这台全新轻便的手提电脑，血库的工作人可更有效地将捐血者的资料完整保留，并可随时随地携带前往主办捐血运动的地点。
八个狮会包括了昔加末狮子会及女狮会，拉美士狮子会及女狮会，公主狮子会，成功狮子会，利民达狮子会及金马士峇鲁狮子会。

昔加末女狮子会成员日前联合第17分区里的其他狮会举办了第9次狮爱星期天活动。所有参与的狮会前往拉美士休闲公园为该公园进行了清除杂草和环保及资源回收的活动。
国际中央狮子会为推广爱心社会，鼓励各区的狮会每月的一个周日轮流举办一项服务社群的爱心活动，这些活动包括到安老院和儿童智障中心给予慰问和资助，也会在各区的学校进行协助维修和清洁运动，狮会成员都会携带家人一起参与活动，尤其是家里的小孩，让他们了解服务社群的方式，培养爱心的社会。

昔加末狮子会及女狮会成员日前拜访昔加末亲善洗肾中心，同时捐献1千元作为该中心的运作基金。
该会获得中心顾问丹斯里高级拿督陈孟通的接待，并向一众人介绍了中心的操作和近况。过后率领参观了该中心内的设备，也给予正在进行洗肾的各族病黎深切的慰问。
该中心是一所非盈利的福利机构，每年甚多贫困的肾病患者到来这里洗肾。该中心鼎承造福人群的宗旨，提供非常低廉的收费服务，减轻病黎的经济负担，但中心面对运作成本逐年曾加，使到财务的负担非常的沉重。他说身为一个国际服务团体的成员，他非常了解一个非盈利医药组织的困难，不只要面对财务上的问题，居于客观的因素，还不时面不甚了解内情外界人士和一些病黎的误解。
狮子会在很多的地区都办有各自或联办的洗肾中心，也是获得来至社会上的善心人士的资助。在本区因该洗肾中心在丹斯里高级拿督陈孟通早年创设，是以狮子会不论举办任何庆典，都会安排捐助该中心的运作基金，以符合国际狮子会服务的宗旨。
